Does anyone think these will sell? Nearly a grand for the 64GB with a keyboard/cover to over $2K for 512GB with keyboard/cover.
What is Microsoft thinking?

I can do more work, enjoy better leisure time and not have to deal with a mini size computer (which I hate) by using my laptop when needed for real work and my Nexus 7 for travel and fun- for a few hundred less than you listed the 64GB model at.

I'm not impressed with the Microsoft tablet offerings at all.

Haven't looked at that particular model. Some of the MS touch models won't run bog-standard desktop OS, but think the more expensive Pro's do (at least the last generation).

If performance happened to be real strong, a strong pad capable of running win desktop software could be attractive in some niches. If a tiny pad was strong enough to compete with a fast desktop, might be real attractive for music applications. It is a challenge to get a pile of music gear and a pile of computer gear arranged into an ergonomic workspace. People who go play gigs will often carry laptops, but even a laptop it is hard to get it ergonomically laid out along with a stack of keyboards or whatever. But IMO even fast laptops are not quite as fast as I'd like for a music computer.

Seeing as how a decently high-performance desktop puter runs hot enough to substitute for a space heater in the winter, seems unlikely that a thin pad would be fast enough to be interesting at the current time, otherwise it might catch fire just sitting there. :)

I don't think it is that bad.  Depends what you need to do with it.  I will be considering one when I can get my hands on one to take a look at.  It will be that or the Lenovo.

Apple ........ :)

At the very least, an apple pad would at least need to run MacOS and Winders afore I'd spend much money on it.
