22 rifles?????

i have an opportunity to lay my hands on 2 CZ 22 rifles but since I have been out of the 22 rifles for quite sometime I need input on these if any one is familiar with them.  The 1st one is a 452 Trainer with scope. My friend says his buddy calls it a nail driver. The other one is a 455 American also with a scope. He says it's a very good gun also. I have not heard of these guns so looking for input if there is anyone here familiar with these 2 rifles. Any help would be greatly appreciated........ :up: :up:

well, I am trying to get as much information on them as I can before I spend the money for them. I would like to have a 22 rifle as all I have right now is my WMR 2 Mag

I did go to the local shop and look at the CZ line before I built up my 10/22, they were sweet and the cheapest one was in the upper $400 range. I opted to build the 10/22 since I had a base and was looking for a bull barrel.

i have only one bolt action 22 and it's a CZ 452 American.  i read phenomenal reports about their accuracy and grabbed one a few years ago.

 

it truly is a one hole rifle right out of the box.

 

only downsides i've seen are the cost and availability of magazines.

 

if you are looking for an accurate 22, you won't be disappointed by either the 452 or 455.

 

fyi, 455 is an updated version of the 452

I have a couple of CZ's. A 452 American and a 452 Ultra Lux. They are wonderful shooters. I highly recommend them.

CZ's are one of the best value rifles made in my opinion.  As accurate out of the box as almost any 22, but better quality, fit, and finish.  The 452's and 455's don't have the set trigger as described above, but they are still some of my favorite 22's.  The 452 Trainer was no more than $350 new and the 455 American was probably around $425 unless they just paid way too much.  

 

Rather than me going into everything about them, it's easier to just link you to the biggest forum on the web that discusses them.  If you don't find it in RimFireCentral under the CZ forum, you won't find it.  If they are in good condition and for the right price you can't go wrong.

Are 455 stocks that shiny from the factory or was a liberal dose of Tru-Oil applied?

Something had to be done. They aren't that shiny from the factory. Could just be a good polish of scratchX. It does a wonder on those sticks if you do it a couple of times.
