What's wrong with a Dan Wesson 1911?

Indeed. The biggest gripe I have with DW 1911s is that I didn't buy one a few years back when they were the biggest steal in handguns.

At the time the Dan Wesson was a bargain, I didn't have the extra cash and a gun addiction to feed.
A few DW pistols would have been a better investment than an exwife! Edited by tnhawk

I'm not questioning what they put out today. And the .445 was manufactured by Wesson Arms which I believe was created after Dan Wessons departure. The design of the muzzle break/port was a problem with that Gun as well. Required dis assembly and cleaning after every handful of rounds.

I have taken note of the overwhelmingly favorable comments towards their 1911s and at this point would not hesitate to buy IF I were in need of another 1911.  I don't recalled any other specific weapon with such one-sided reports.

One of my bigger gun regrets is having walked by a Dan Wesson Pistol Pak several years ago at the old Murfreesboro Walmart show.

It everything that had origionally be sent out with it, all the barrels, tools and even the packing and shipping cases with it. I believe it had something like 900 on it at the time.

But for some reason I just didn't stop at the time. When I came back around, it was gone.

I later found it on one of the bigger dealers tables with a 1500 price on it.
