Yea, I know she is a little over weight according to the vet she should weigh 32 pounds but weighs 71 and Vet says I need to feed her less and not give her so many snacks but she is 15 going on 16 and has been spoiled all her life on home cooked meals and snacks consisting of Jacks Link Jerky and Alpo Biscuits but I did make a slight adjustment to her diet to please the Vet. I took her off the Beef jerky and put her on the jacks turkey Jerky. Yea maybe I should put her on a diet but decided as long as she is happy I ain't changingmuch about her lifestyle. ......... :whistle: :whistle:

It's always a trade off. And I really understand it. I really do.

 

I'm with you on this. A little adjustment is good, but a radical change now....that's a hard thing to do with them.

At almost sixteen, I wouldn't change a thing, Queenie has already well beaten the odds.

 

My Mom's fat and psychotic Chihuahua died of diabetes, but was going on 14. A more restricted diet might have given him a few more years. Or not. Past 12, any of our canine friends' longevity is pretty much a crap shoot even with optimal care.
