Smoker update for the MB 30 or 40

We were talking about using the amnp smoker,to bring on smoke in a few diff smokers, On the amps site they say to pull the chip loader out and pull the tray out 1.5 inches to get enough air in the master built smokers.
That's why mine died 1/3 of the way through last cook I did. Starved itself out....just wanted to pass it on

Yep, have to have the chip tray cracked. I usually only need yo have mine out no more than an inch.

thanks hozzie, i was wondering why mine kinda smoldered out, i thought it got belted w a grease attack, then i read the faq on the site and saw that come up for the MB30

Do you mean to remove the chip/ash pan on the inside and then pull the round chip loader out about an inch to open up the air flow? That makes sense to me because I have oxygen issues burning chips in mine. I usually end up having to pull the chip loader out on occasion anyway.

Just pull the chip loader tray out about an inch. You don't need to remove the chip pan. Also make sure the vent in top is open so there is airflow.
