So saturday night i was bowling and somewhere between paying for the games on my way out, and driving in my car toward home, i found my wallet missing. Now, the only explanation is that I left it at the counter or dropped it while putting it back in my pocket - they don't just fall out of jeans that keep 'em tight. ARRGGHHH!! I checked my car, checked with the bowling alley, even checked with a friend whose car I was in earlier that night, even though it couldn't be there. No dice. So I put an ad on craigslist offering a reward for it. And - as any of you who've lost wallets know, it's not about the cash, i want the other stuff back. And honestly, I don't want to have to go to the DMV, both banks, then try to replace phone numbers and balance my accounts without receipts that were in there.

sorry, it's just that I haven't lost a wallet in years, and it is totally frustrating.:screwy::mad::D:mad::D

Lost my wallet a while back. Never had to leave my apartment to remedy it. You can order replacement DMV stuff online, you can call the bank to cancel your cards (which I hope you already have done) and order new ones. As far as the receipts, well its not the end of the world if you lose them. However the issue of paying for stuff was the real pain. I had to go to the bank every couple of days and get cach from the teller until my new cards came.

Oh hell.....well now I feel like a true idiot.:screwy:

It was in my car, like I thought, and apparently my brother borrowed my car and stuck my wallet in the garage. Why the garage? I have no clue. And why didn't he tell me? I don't know. But yeah, now I'm totally lucky, and all I had done was cancel my cards, so I've gotta go through the annoyance of waiting for new ones using cash in the meantime. Oh well, it sure could've been worse.

I heard a good tip once.. Take everything out of your wallet and photocopy it, front and back of things like credit cards. This way you will remember everything in your wallet and you will have all the numbers to call if it is lost.

Just don't keep it in your wallet....

That photo was taken before payday. Five days later, this was the scene at curbside:
