We ran a lot of events for kids when I worked in the church.  I guess Eagle Scout-ed-ness runs hard in my family.  I always sought to see every way a person might be injured and worked to mitigate as much as possible.  -always been concerned about inflatables in high-ish wind conditions - and took precautions to prevent any such incidents.  stake down, stake down, stake down.  If that doesn't feel right, take down.

- BTW - the lighter-weight "consumer" models are much more prone to this than the large, heavy rubberized canvas commercial houses.. - not sure which one this was...

... but 50mph winds..??  no. no.

-hope the kids recover to live wonderful lives.

I'm sure legislation will be introduced within a week to ban the things.

If so, I hope the company that rented the thing out has an LLC, insurance, and/or waivers to protect the owners.

At a high-school reunion a couple years ago they had one of those set up for the kiddos to play in.  The thing was huge and suddenly the wind started gusting really hard and the inflatable with all the kids in it started rolling across the field, ejecting a couple kids here and there, running over a few, and tumbling the rest.  I felt bad that my first impulse was to laugh hysterically ;)

Nobody gets hurt = funniest thing all month

Somebody gets hurt = tragedy

By the way, someone is claiming this is an eyewitness's photo:

Supposedly the kids fell at around 15 feet but then the house turned into a kite.
