Question about Older model Ford vehicles?

1979 Ford F-100.  This one has a manual transmission--3 speed on the column.  I've owned this for about 2 years now and have never had a problem.  Parked in gear with emergency brake applied.

I was born in the cab of a '72 F100, mom was hitchhiking from Milwaukee to Savannah and I was a pit stop. Cauterized my cord nub with the cigarette lighter.

Been a Chevy guy ever since.

Yeah, none of that's true... Was fun to write though.

Bought my first Ford in 1975 and have owned nothing but since then. Never had the problem and never heard of it that I recall.

You can go back and research stories about it back in the 70's in news articles. Thanks Austin 7.62 for your thoughts. I have my good days and bad days these days but hated it when doctor told me to go fishing cause my working days were over. I really loved working on cars but then I really learned to like fishing to. And now I enjoy shooting at the range but can't do a lot of that without using platform to support hand and pistol because rotatory cuffs in shoulders begin to ache. i can shoot for about 30 minutes then if I rest and have a cup of coffee with my arms down in resting position I can go back and shoot another 15 or 20 more minutes. Looking forward to getting that 22lr ammo from David and Sam so I can get back in the range. I am looking at trying to find someone That may want to sell a Bersa 22Lr pistol. I have been wanting one for some time. If I sell that Sig I ave offered on here I will buy one from Buds unless someone can recommend another place I should look for one.................
