KNS Push Button Takedown & Pivot Pins

Recommended Posts

This past weekend I stripped my SBR down to recoat the upper and lower flat black silicone ceramic, and cure it in the oven... Got that done and all back together when the rear takedown pin locked solid because I failed to put some grease in the detent channel... and being an idiot punched it out instead taking the rear plate back off. Result: I broke the detent pin in half and chipped some of the receiver material away at the pin hole. I've got spare pins and whatnot, but I was wondering if anyone had experience with KNS push button pins (or anything else which would eliminate the detents), and recommend them; or if I should go back with stock pins and detents? I'd really like to avoid any further damage to my SBR lower by putting stress in the compromised detent pin channel.

KNS pins work just fine. Only possible downside is that since they are not captive, could lose them when you take rifle down in the field.

I Like and have used the KNS pins on a sig 556 rifle i have, BUT!

I found a diff style that i like a little better, the pins have knobs on em making them easy to pop out.comes w extra springs, brass pins, and a couple o little install tools.did both for under 23 bucks..

Rear detent pin hole was too wallowed out to go back with new springs and pins, tried that and the detent would angle outward with the takedown when trying to remove it. Got KNS pins in there now, problem solved... But I see now how they could get lost, since they aren't captured, I'll be buying some spares for sure.

Thanks
