.22 at Murfreesboro Walmart

I stopped in the Murfreesboro Walmart on Old Fort tonight and stopped by sporting goods to renew my son's fishing license and there sat about 40-50 50 round boxes of Federal .22. Normal price of $2.47.

The surprising thing was that there was only 1 other guy there interested in it. He got his limit of 3, I bought 3 and no one else seemed interested in 50 round boxes, although 1 guy did ask if he had any of the bulk boxes but passed on the 50 rounders. Guess they're harder to turn a profit on.

Actually, someone that lives in another town prefers the 50 round boxes to sell. He owns a store, in a town south of here, and sells to people that buy .22LR to actually hunt with. He said there was more profit in the 50 round boxes, and that was what they wanted. When I was a kid, about 146 years ago, a 50 round b ox of .22 LR lasted a long time in bolt actions, or single shot rifles. Let's see, 50 rounds is about 2 mags full in the 10-22 Ruger, and they won't last long! Lots of fun though.

I recently purchased a Henry .22 but haven't shot it much as I don't like to use ammo I can't easily replace. I hope this is the beginning of supplies becoming available again. Edited by tnhawk
