Thought the dog lovers would enjoy this one...

This story popped up on Bing's current stories bar at the bottom of their home page this morning.  A missing three year old boy found safe and sound - largely because his dog stayed by his side, apparently even using its own body to shield the boy from a thunderstorm.

Good story.  It's amazing what our dogs will do for us. Can't imagine not ever having a dog.

Just got off work, was gonna eat some oatmeal and lay down but ended cooking bacon and eggs split between me and four legged buddy. Good thing the mom had a great dog in the family.

Heh... my dog would've been hiding under me during a thunderstorm.

Mine, too.  He would be looking at me like, "How could you have let this happen?"

That's a great story.

When I was a tiny tyke we had a big old goofy mutt that was my self-appointed babysitter. His name was Woof. If I wandered near the road, or even looked like I would head for the road, he would push me down and sit on me until mom got there. Can barely recall it, and best I recall, I didn't understand his motivation for sitting on me, at the time. :) A few years later when it was time to ride the school bus for first grade, the poor dog would about go nuts when I'd go to the road and get on the bus.

The dog in the article looks so much like a yellow lab. Maybe-- Golden Retriever + German Shepherd = Yellow Lab ?? :)

Living out in the county growing up with a hour plus bus ride to and from school at a very early age 6. We had a collie named Lady that walked us out to the end of the gravel rd to catch the bus and was there waiting when we got home. It was about 75 yards from the house to road. The day she died was the only day she wasn't there. Thanks to all of the 4 legged friends. JTM We the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......
