Took the old man out shooting today

My folks were in town for my 40th b-day this weekend and I realized that my dad had never shot a full-auto before so we took the "Bad Idea" AOW and a short M16 out to play for a bit.  He had a great time and it was nice to see that "first time" look on someone's face that ya often forget about after you've been in the gun business awhile. 

Wish my 6yo liked shooting that much, he's been around it since he was born so its just work to him and he generally doesn't want to go shoot stuff.

Belated Birthday Wishes for you. And that was a great thing to do for and with your Dad. Sure wish I could do that with mine one more time. I was about your age when I lost him.

Sounds like a great way to spend a birthday. I try to get my dad out as often as I can but it hasn't been until recently that he has felt like doing much after being laid up for 3 years. I need to get him out to the range soon. He always enjoys it, and he's a better spotter than anyone else in the family!
