We will become residents of Wilson County Next week. My son who is ten is starting to get a little nervous with the move. So I was wondering if someone might be able give some information about children's activities in the area. I thought if we could find a soccer team in the area it might give him a chance to make some new friends. Also wondering if Tennessee has has summer programs for children through the parks and recreation? Do churches have sports leagues in Tennessee?

Thanks

I seem to remember seeing your moving to MJ

Shoot Kenny Martin an email at KMartin@Cityofmtjuliet.org

He is economic development director but knows everyone and would help a new citizen with any info they need. He's a damn good and friendly guy. He's done many things and served our community for as long as I can remember and has always seemed to more than happy to help anyone he can.

We don't play soccer here, well we have a game kinda like soccer, we kick a possum around and try to kick it in the bed of a 72 Chevy pickup, that's a goal.   :)

I grew up in Wilson County.  Back then sports were big, guess there is organized sports of just about every kind there now.  There's a church on just about every other corner county wide.  I spent much of my youth scouting, Boxwell Scout Reservation is one of the finest Boy Scout Camps in the region, being so close we camped there about a weekend each month and then a week in the summer, lots of good memories.  Also fishing and boating opportunities are plentiful being really close to OldHickory Lake and close to Percy Priest.

I live in Gladeville, which is between Lebanon and Mt. Juliet. Both of my children play on soccer teams. The league has two seasons a year which my 10 yo Daughter plays on. Most of the elementary schools have a program called Kid's Club which runs during the year and summer break for a nominal fee. There is all kinds of stuff for them to do around the area. My son is in a Explorer troop. There are many Scouting activities in the area.

Welcome to Wilson County, if you need any info feel free to contact me.
