FML - broke down on the interstate

Recommended Posts

Sitting in traffic this morning on i65, tapped the gas pedal and it sank to the floor...truck just coasted.
Was able to get into the zebra stripes, the throttle cable either snapped or pulled off the gas pedal. I can't tell while sitting here and traffic is too bad to get out.
Another repair bill looks like, having to pay a tow truck at the very least.

car repairs suck. In the last month I've spent a substantial amount of money getting my wifes acadia fixed at the dealership. I feel your pain! Been on side of the interstate a few times myself also. good luck man

The cable snapped and disappeared somewhere. About half of it is missing.

Oh well, not a very expensive fix just a huge inconvenience. Even more so because no one around has a throttle cable, so having to overnight it so won't be fixed until tomorrow.

Will be driving my wife's HHR again tomorrow - that thing drives great but is not very comfortable for me, but at 34 MPG on the interstate I can be uncomfortable for a while.

If you had some string you could have ran it through a hole in the firewall to the trottle body and limped iy back lol.

I've did that with accelerator and also wiper blades LOL . It works when you need it .

Had this happen in my dodge... twice. Sucks trying to make your way out of traffic whilst coasting, especially with no one willing to let you through.
