Currently living in Gulf Breeze Florida (Next to Pensacola Florida) However after the house sells my fiance, son and I will all be moving on up to TN. Im so excited I can hardly contain it. I'm over the heat and humidity here. Looking forward to the cold winters... and actually having more than 2 seasons!!!

Unfortunately we will have to live in the Suburbs for the first year or so, however our plan is to purchase some land to eventually retire on! Anyone on here is who familiar with properties up there good counties to look within, I'd love to hear from you. I was warned on another forum to steer clear of New Tazewell area "we dont take to kindly to strangers" mentality... This true?

Anyhow hope to get to know some of yall. Cant wait to move... just stuck waiting on this house to sell :ugh:

New Tazewell is about 1 to 1.5 hour drive from OR.

Besides, they meant New River (again an hour or more out into the boonies).

Where will you be working?

Everywhere outside the big cities, i.e. everywhere the immigrants are outnumbered by the natives.

This isn't unique to Tennessee.

Appreciate the insight! I work in sales... Degree is in Hospitality and tourism, however have a good bit of experience with sales So finding a job is easy. Fiance is a dental hygienist (shes already licensed in TN making this the primary destination). Really just want to get off the coast here in Florida. Fun to visit... not much fun to live here.

Welcome from another deep south transplant.

Oak Ridge is a good community and Anderson county has a lot to offer as well.

There are definitely 4 seasons here...sometimes within the same month LOL.

Great folks though. Lots of gun loving, Constitution respecting folks. :usa:

BTW, I suggest locating outside of OR city limits due to property taxes & utilities rates (and their socialist/near communist leaning government - it *is* a government town, and they know whose hooter they are attached to).  Morgan County also is very high on property taxes. Most folks who work at the DOE facilities live outside of OR.

Good points R_Bert;

I'm in Knox County...a mixture of good folks and libtards imho... but the wife likes it and I love her...so there you go...

but plan to move to Anderson or Roane county when feasible.
