Hoping someone here will have some information they would share on this rifle.  A friend of mine recently inherited several weapons, this one in particular is one we haven't been able to identify.  Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

That is a Swedish Mauser.  Considered one of the finest made and most accurate military rifles.  It looks to be in excellent condition.

It is really nothing special, bring it to me for testing, bring LOTS of ammo.

I'd love to have a Swede! Your friend is s lucky guy!

Unfortunately inheritance comes from a loss. But true, he gained some nice firearms.  He also has an Tokarev rifle that I'm thinking may be a SVT-40.  I want to put some pics up later.  It's difficult to distinguish the markings on it.

I was fortunate to pick up a Tula SKS and a Izhevsk Mosin M44 both with matching serial numbers and a Norinco milled MAK-90 from him that he wasn't interested in keeping.

Needless to say, I'm happy.

6.5x55 if you weren't sure of the chambering. It'll likely be more accurate than most peoples' shooting ability. It would cost several thousand dollars to produce a rifle that woud even come close to the quality of an old Carl Gustav.

I had one when I was still in the Army in the 70s. Bought it from a LGS for $100. Back in the day ... memories. It was a great shooter and accurate. I so longed for another 6.5 Swede, that I had to buy a CZ mannlicher 550 a few years ago. It's a great shooter too, but it unfortunately cost me a lot more than $100. :pleased:
