$1400.00 I checked one store in the Nashville area seems like they were about $200 more plus the additional sales tax. SO was that store Just pricey or are there other stores near Mt Juliet that might be the same price here Indiana Just wondering if I should buy if before the move?

1200 - 1400 should get you a pristine piece, if you want a shooter shop around and wait my best guess is under 1000. Gunbroker would be another good lace to search. As a rule shy away from "Universal" as their parts are not compatible with WW2 milsurp. Also be aware is someone is selling "all matching" it's not likely to be all original parts. All the subcontractors shared parts during the final assembly process so most M1 s were issued as "mix masters"
It's a great platform, effective caliber at 100 yards or less and is big fun to shoot.

Good luck on your quest!

He is referencing a M1A, semi auto version of the M14, shoots .308win, certainly good for beyond 100yards. Im assuming you are thinking of the M1 carbine shooting .30carbine.
