I just can't believe the little turd wouldn't treat a veteran with more respect.

It is not taught at all in the liberal school systems we have today and it is not taught in any home of any liberal socialist family but you can bet it is taught in the homes of real Americans with real values and real morals and yea there are guns in their homes too...........jmho

I just got asked last night why I feel the need to carry a gun. She was a very nice young lady with her husband, and their 10 month-old baby boy was in their car. I was selling them a spare car I had. She happened to see the outline of my gun under my shirt and was taken aback by it. She asked politely why I carried. I told her that my smart alec comment, for young punks, was that a cop was too heavy. I then told her that my sincere answer was that it was my duty as a father to protect my family, to do that I needed to protect myself as well, and that my gun leveled the playing field with criminals. She nodded slowly, then looked at her husband and gave him the "that's a good point/idea" look. Her husband later told me that she had just shot her first handgun a few days ago and said she kinda liked it, so I may have made a convert.

I remember the 60's.  I am sure it was called a war back then.   There was a saying in the late 60's " Make love, not war"  We watched the Viet Nam war every night on Walter Cronkite's news.

Yea, I know Cronkite did discuss the war but back then I think it was called a conflict and all the films that Cronkite showed were all edited by the military at Pentagon and then given back to him to show on 5:30 news.

You hit the nail right on the head bersa. I don't think values, respect and honor are taught in many homes outside of liberalist homes either. Most of my family are teachers and they get so mad at today's youth as well as the parents taking up for them. " my child wouldn't do that" BS

Thanks LB. I was taught to respect my elders and anyone else's elders and anyone else for that fact. I was taught it in school and you can bet I was taught it at home. It was Yes ma'am or no ma"am and yes sir or no sir or a back hand across the mouth from my mother or trip to wood shed by my father. i raise my sons the same way but I was also aware of the fact that my Sons would not be as hard on their children and I was surprised that my youngest son began requesting respect and manners from his boys and when he didn't get it he demanded it or there was Hell to pay in his home like we had growing up. He got respect from his boys that are now grown.  Made me proud of him for standing his ground........... :up:

Before I lost my wife in 97 I never missed opening a door of any kind, house, car, store. She was my second wife but the love of my life. I miss her everyday. My first wife and the mother of my two boys is still alive but I have not seen her since she walked out on me and my 2 sons in 1987 while our oldest son was in a coma in St Thomas Hospital from an auto accident. She had some young man show her a little attention and she bailed on us. I have always said what goes around comes around and most times it does. But thats another story for another time......................jmho
