Wife's birthday is Saturday... Restaurant suggestions?

Gosh I am sure glad I didn't ask this question. I didn't ask it but I am still confused about which one I would pick. I would probably stay home, turn the lights down , put on her favorite music and order in Chinese. We do have a great Chinese Resturant here in Gallatin that delivers and they have great Chinese food.

Send me a PM and I'll get you hooked up at The Standard. It's my families.  http://www.smithhousenashville.com/ I can probably arrange you guys to get in the private cigar club and a few other niceties. Won't get any nicer or more exclusive in downtown. Beats all the other high end places year after year as the go to high end exclusive restaurant.

I really liked the Tin Angel. And I know it's not fancy, but between the beer and the brats, The Pharmacy is always high on my go-to list. God, I'm getting worked up just thinking about it :D Edited by Lumber_Jack

I'll go against the grain and give a solid "meh" to the Melting Pot.  My wife loves it, but I'm just not big on the idea of paying that much for dinner consisting of boiled meat that I had to cook myself.  I'd rather grill at home.  If you wanna go there, go for dessert only (they do that).

 Dinner =  :-\    Dessert = :up:

I guess jeans and t-shirt is out of the question? That place looks very nice.

While I'm sure showing up in flip flops and cut off shorts might be out of the question, I've found a lot of the nicer restaurants aren't as picky about dress code as they may have once been.  Last time we went to Jimmy kelly's I wore a Godsmack tshirt and my good Levi's.  Never got a second glance.  Strange thing paying with cash in a bad economy, it changes a lot of minds about some things.

I love me some good food.  With no kids me and wife eat out a lot.  No food will ever be worth a neck tie.  I'd rather stop at hardee's and grab a sixer and go home.

The southern is excellent, the standard as well. never had a bad time at urban grub. Nashville has gotten some very good new restaurants recently. Husk is at the top of that list, silo, etch, Rolf and daughters, all good choices.

Not all that expensive and its great food. Beats the **** out of any other steak house. Try it, you will not regret it. I have yet to meet someone who regretted going to a Brazilian steak house.

You speak Chinese? Cantonese or Mandarin?

Sorry. Just kidding.

Sorry. Just kidding.

No but I do speak Vietnamese very well and can translate it just as well. I can get by with some Japanese, enough to get by without to many laughs from the natives................

Ended up going to The Standard. I think me and the wife have a new favorite restaurant. The food and the service were fantastic. I think I had the best cheesecake I've ever eaten.

I appreciate all you guys suggestions!

That's cool.  Was she happy?  Reality being, your cheesecake means squat.  If she was happy, you should be good with fried bologna.  Momma's happy, everybody happy!

OK, y'all made me hungry and I just finished dinner. How about someplace to stay that don't have bedbugs.

Nice, I read up on The Standard and looks like I'll have a new place to check out.

The smoked deviled eggs there are a "must have" as an appetizer!

D'oh! scratch that... I was thinking of the Southern, not the Standard... :ugh:

If you guys are ever In the mood for the best steak you've ever had in your life, head over to Kayne Prime. It ain't cheap, but for a special occasion, it's the best in town (and probably one of the best in the nation). Try the progression of wagu.
