Inspired by ramblings in another thread.  I got curious as to the carrying habits of people who carry.  I carried all day everyday for years but due to a recent job change my personal habits have changed.  Just wondering what the rest of the world does.

If I am not being forced to pass through a metal detector, I have at least one gun on me. Edited by Chucktshoes

Everyday, but not everywhere. I do not carry at work or in prohibited areas. My EDC is a Glock 27 (40sw) which rides in a Galco KingTuk IWB holster (great holster and great price BTW).

I leave it in the truck when I head into daycare. It's not posted but I'd like my kids to keep going there. Other than that it's on when I leave the house. In the house I normally have one within a few paces. Edited by JHC77

This brings up another interesting topic: who carries "in the home"? I'm of the philosophy that my gun is only secure if it is inside of my locked 500lb safe or if it is on my person. I don't carry in my house because I'm some paranoid freak that thinks a gang is going to burst through my door, but because I prefer to NEVER leave a gun laying around not completely in my custody.

Instead, I leave magazines (Glock food) within a few feet of any given spot in my house. The magazine as we all know, and despite what the media may tell everyone else, is completely harmless in the hands of anyone without a Glock 27 :)

Nice poll 10 ring. I voted b. I can't carry at work but as of the new law, it's in my car. I carry most other times. Just got a new m&p .380 and it's the perfect size to pocket.

Normally if I am going to be leaving my house I will have one on my belt concealed with a loose fitting light wind breaker or loose cover button up shirt. If I am at home and out in the yard in shorts I have a pocket pistol on my person. In my house there is 1 or more guns all around the house including bathroom. None in plain sight but I know where they are and there is an extra loaded magazine with each gun. That includes when i am away from house and packing I have at least 1 loaded back up Magazine. Paranoid Never!!!!!!! Cautious always!!!!! I went out today and I was unarmed for about 2 minutes to mail a package in post office.

All day, everywhere. Even at home. Not paranoid, but if its not in the safe the safest place is on my person. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

I don’t carry much, depends on what I’m doing or where I’m going. I don’t carry at home but have one within arm’s reach most of the time.

I can't carry at work, or even have one in the truck, so workdays are out of the question... But other than that I make an effort to carry anytime I leave the house for a non-prohibited location.

Everywhere but work. We don't have kids so if there's no company coming over there's one laying about. And no not paranoid, 450lbs of dogs makes me very secure feeling. :)

I have been without a gun on me no more that 10 days since 2008. If I am leaving my property I ALWAYS have at least one gun on my person and another close by. Walking to the mailbox I sometimes have a gun with me but not always. Sitting in the house I ALWAYS have a gun close by as well. Was never really that worried about having guns close by in the house until someone tried to kill my wife and I in 2009. Now I can probably lay down a minute or two of return fire if need be.

I picked all the time but I do remove it if I have to enter properly posted areas and some of the other options also apply partially (I carry something BIGGER if I think there may be trouble, and sometimes something *even BIGGER* in the car if its really looking grim).   Mostly I try to avoid dangerous areas but there are times one has to drive to or thru the gang turf.

I carry any time I am out. Even if I am just running to town to pick up a pizza. At home my carry piece (Glock 19) gets paired with a 33 round mag of Federal HST 124's and is on top of my fridge. The 870 is always close by too.
