I am purchasing a Remington 700 30-06 SPS Friday afternoon. Will be used mostly for deer hunting, maybe some coyote hunting too. I want to shoot the Hornady 165gr BTSP and be as accurate as possible (referring to gun performance). Looking at the pillar bedding block and full bedding block stocks made by brands like HS, Hogue, McMillian, etc.

(A) What brand of aftermarket stock would you guys suggest based on experience and performance?

( With this gun being a SPS (black finish with composite stock) would I need an ADL or BDL stock?

As always thanks for the info, I look forward to your thoughts.......

I just ordered a Knoxx Rifle Compstock for my 30-06.

It is a Hogue overmolded stock with a recoil reducer built into the butt end.

I am only shooting targets with this rifle, though.

I have a knoxx specops on my shottie that works as advertised, so I have faith that this will perform equally well.

I found the best price here:http://www.ombexpress.com

and search for 'compstock' or 'BK565'

The stock is available with pillar bedding or full bed block.

I've run the stock polymer furniture on my Remington 7600 since the day I bought it. Have had no need to replace it for accuracy's sake and have taken plenty of deer and a handful of coyotes with it.
