Cold Steel OSS Carbon V Knife

I stopped in a pawn shop owned by a friend a few days ago & spotted this beauty. I'm not what you would call a big Cold Steel fan & most of my knives are stainless, but I can still appreicate a quality carbon blade. What I've been able to find out is this is one of the first Cold Steel OSS knives produced after they purchased stock from Camillus when they were still making Carbon V. The 8.25" blade's flat ground instead of hollow ground & is in 99% condition. The rubber grip has a few rub marks & the nylon holster's a little rough, but the edge is perfect. Looks like it was carried, but not used much. Maybe someone has more info they can give me about this particular model. It's a little big for much practical use, but may make a good camp knife..or may just end up sitting in one of my drawers at home with some of my other knives. Either way, I plan to make a sheath for it as soon as I can pick up some more leather. Hopefully I'll get to get some use out of it this summer. :x:

I had never seen an OSS knife before I walked in his shop that day. When I bought it I was just hoping it was worth more than the $18 I paid for it.

Had a Cold Steel Tanto...was a great blade. Unfortunately, someone like it more than I did and "borrowed" it permanently from my truck box.
