Alcohol Limit For Beer To Be Raised In Tennessee?

Last time I checked, logans wasnt selling it.

 

 

Logan's the restaurant chain?  What's that got to do with the law?  And who buys moonshine at a bar?  I get it in mason jars from a coworker...  :ugh:

 

 

I'm no expert, but to my knowledge there's a beer license and a liquor license.  If you've got a liquor license, you can sell anything up to PGA.

I haven't bellied up to a bar and ordered a drink anywhere in a long time.  I've had a few growlers filled, but haven't ordered a drink in ages.  I've never understood why people pay $10 (or more!) for a couple beers in a noisy bar when you can get a whole 6-pack for that.

That's a business decision, not b/c of a law. If a large percentage of their customers were requesting shine they would stock it, though I for one would never drink unaged whisky when there are a competent selection of better whiskeys already on the shelf.

 

There is apparently enough interest for several distilleries to offer it in liquor stores now though. Buffalo Trace White Dog comes to mind, though I haven't personally tried it.

heck talk about lax in booze laws , in Illinois you can walk into a gas station/market and buy beer or a 1/5 of Jack Daniels along with smokes and gas. I was doing that  back in 1990 when I would go visit a buddy of mine I grew up with. Don't know if it has changed any since i have not been back since my buddy passed away from Agent Orange Cancer around 2000. He fought it hard and it would go in and out of remission and finally when he got old he said he was done fighting and when it came back he didn't fight it.

Because there is no limit on whiskey.

 

Well there is the physics limit that 200 proof is near-impossible because ethanol is hygroscopic, and of course it can never get higher than 100 percent alcohol content under any conditions. :)

Been thinking about that.  Not sure how I'd find the time, but would like to try it.

Well, the bill to raise the limit on alcohol for beer has passed and sent to the Governor for his signature. Since it passed with such large majorities in the House and Senate it should be a done deal.
