New Reloader

I am now the proud owner of my first reloading press. I purchused the Lee challenger anniversary kit from midwayUSA.com. Wow talk about fast service, I ordered the press Friday, Sept26 online & my Girlfriend calls me about 2pm Wensday, Oct 1st. my press has arrived

Dont have a pic yet, I've got to mount the press and powder measure. my kitchen table will be my reloading bench until I get a storage shed built out back

Congrats ... I've been reloading for about 6 months. It's been more satisfying knowing that I "made" what I was shooting.

But, what they say, you will save per bullet but you will probably shoot a lot more.

Congrats!! What calibers are you going to load for? Let us know if we can help with anything. Have you read all the way through "Modern Reloading" yet? Since Lee wrote it, it's a good help for learning how to use his press.

I've got a storage room attached to the outside of my house, not much room, about the size of a small hall closet. but it has a good solid bench there. My landlord (a cop) also reloads, he said that would be the best place to set it up until we can build that storage building.

after I order my die set for my .38 I'm going to do a dry run... I'm just going to load some lead bullets w/o any primers or powder. it will give me good idea of how the process works, and I get some poor mans sanp caps

I'm going to start with .38. then as I get more comfortable with the process move up to .45. good thing about the .45 is that my cop landlord had a lee progressive set up for it already, and is willing to in for half on the powder/primer/bullets.

I've already read "modern reloading" my buddy loaned it to me a few weeks ago. I also orderd the new one with my Lee kit. I plan on re-reading it while I start reloading

I suggest going ahead and getting the Lee deluxe 4 die set with the factory crimp die included. You may not need it all the time, but I promise it will come in handy, and it only adds a couple bucks to the cost of the set.

I am going to get started reloading soon and that is exactly why I want to start, so I can shoot more for that same price!

I am reading "The ABC's of Reloading" then I have had a member here tell me that he will show me the basics to get me started. I am sure looking forward to that.
