Where is the wall to wall coverage of this attack?  Has to be the worst knife attack in our history but they're only giving it a bit of coverage in between the "pingers" from the Malaysian flight.

What would grab your attention: 20 injured with a knife. Or 20 injured with a assault rifle?

20 kids attacked with anything should get everyone's attention.

Think of today's common cattle. Fed by anything that they see on TV. There are ways were you can make anything grab your attention. Its just how it is pitched. And most masses care about celebrity gossip than actual changes that impact the world they live in.

— and one district official expressed relief that it was carried out with a knife rather than a gun.

Your IQ would have to be lower than your age to make a statement like that.

Anyway, I haven't heard one reporter actually ask what kind/length of knives the guy used. Surely an "assault knife" moniker will arise out of this?

He also said the suspect had been armed with two eight-to-ten inch straight knives

Was it an automatic knife or a high capacity knife.

Heaven help us if it was one of those with 3 or more blades.

BTW, I didn't think they were allowed to carry knives in school?

/sarcasm off

I'll say this, you have to be one flat out dedicated to blood and guts type loon to do this sort of thing up close and personal with knives. Not that doing it with a gun isn't just as crazy, but it's still a rarefied level of bloodlust to go for it this way.

If I have learned one thing in life and as a police officer, mentally disturbed people are often fascinated by knives, swords and such. I am not saying people who collect them are off but those that are really like cutlery. They generally don't care anything about a firearm or are scared of them.

I guess good thing most of those swords are cheap knock offs. I have yet to see a real sword or katana in person.

People do kill people and the only way to stop that is by killing them first. To a utopian this is a moral paradox that invalidates everything that came before it, but to everyone else, it's just life in a world where evil is a reality, not just a word.

Apparently a 16 yr old can be a blood & guts loon... http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/04/09/franklin-regional-students-reaction/7510627/

Strange times indeed.
