Wonder if details will be released, hard to imagine mistaken identity if the two were turkey hunting together. And would have to be within what, about 40-50 yards to be deadly (to a person) with turkey shot to the head?

Most reporters are terrible writers. It could possibly have been accidental discharge while heading into the woods to hunt and not actually "hunting" yet. If there's pastures in the area a fences are always present.
