Goodman Show bans individual/parking lot sales

Just got a call from a buddy who was at the show and said that the Goodman people have signs up prohibiting individual sales inside the show. No parking lot sales. And ejection from the show for violators.

 

Anyone have any info on this?

They don't own the parking lot at the fair grounds, I don't see how they can prohibit parking lot sales, that would be up to the owners of the fair grounds.

Could this be mandate by the fairgrounds? Everything so far seems to point to trying to make sure the fairgrounds is not-profitable. Then the city can turn it something else not profitable... Goodman's shows have allowed private sales for many years.

it's about as useful as implementing a no stupid people inside the building ban.

 

doesn't matter what they say, it's still perfectly legal and it would be interesting to see how they try to handle it.  Are they going to have security guards patrolling the parking lot illegally demanding peoples' ID's so they can put them on a no entry list?

Reminds me of so many other things happening lately. Doing something to say they did something because someone whined about it. As said above, unless they get people walking around "proving" that someone is selling, not just looking or talking about, a weapon, it's a waste of paper and time.

Sounds more like a cya attempt by the promoters in case any suit is ever filed.

No matter what the reasons, I will not attend another Goodman event. Nor any promoter who tries to do these things.

It is a very easy fix, just leave the lot.

Back years ago when I fished bass tournaments regularly I would attend all the local Fishing Expo's because you could get some really good deals and most anglers would save up money to spend at the shows. About 8 years ago I attended my last show. I went to the show and there were more people and booths selling aluminum siding, storm windows, Jerky and guide trips than baits and fishing tackle. The few booths with tackle was selling their products at premium over the top retail. The last few gun shows I have been to are going in the same direction. More hat booths and clothing booths and basically junk booths that gun booths and the gun and ammo booths that are there are priced higher than you can buy at local retail stores so I quit going to them also. If I cannot find it in local stores not I go online and find what I want and don't have to spend gas and 8 to 10 bucks to get in.....................jmho

I have only been to one show in the last five years. Everything was over priced except a few reloading supplies that I needed. No David wasn't there but needed some media to get started. And some brass same guy had at a decent price. Haven't been back. Cost too much to walk around and talk. JTM We the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......

I guess like everything the cost of producing a gun-show has risen, but to me, the value maxed out a long time ago at $5 or less.  I'll eat a few cheeseburger or burrito for $10.
