Game Cameras/surveillance cameras

Within the last year, i purchased a home in a "good" part of town. Nothing fancy but it fell in the right school system and gave me nearly a acre while still being within walking distance of downtown. However, i have had some issues with the "neighbors" that live behind me.

When we moved in, i fenced in the back yard because of my dogs. I have 6' privacy on part of the yard and 4' chain on the part of the yard that is covered by tall evergreen trees. No issues initially but then my dogs started going nuts around the fence line and I've noticed random "trash" that has been thrown in my yard. Then i found that my "neighbors" also have a firework fetish that hits prime around 0:00. Being in the city limits, fireworks are prohibited with the exception of holidays. I drove down and tried to have a conversation but it didn't end well and i had to send the police to deliver the message. I have a 8 month old child. Fireworks don't work well for her sleeping schedule. In addition to this, i waked into the backyard one night to find one of the neighbors kids (16+) halfway over my 6' fence. When he saw me, he slid down the other side but i couldn't help but notice the possibility.

Anyway, today, i see my neighbors who are friends (and also TGO members.) She asks if i noticed the action behind the house this week. I replied that i didn't. My tree's block out the view of the neighborhood below. She told me to go to the bottom fence line and take a look. Basically, the neighbors kids set a fire that got out of control. It burned the hill side below my property. It seems that the fire ran down my fence line. The fire department was called out to control the fire and spent the majority of the day keeping things under control. With the ivy on that hill, the fire department saved me from spending thousands to replace the tree line. For that, i am very thankful.

Moving forward, what can i do to monitor this piece of the property? Can i put game camera's or surveillance camera's up that monitor the fence line? Can the be aimed onto another piece of property? Is there anything to keep the neighbors from destroying them if found on my property? At first, i was concerned with maintaining a relationship with the folks who lived beside me. After a couple interactions, i got over that. I am interested in protecting my family and my belongs. Nothing more--nothing less.

Thanks in advance for the help

Yes, you can put up cameras.

No, there's nothing that will stop them from destroying them if found.

Yes you can get creative. Hide one really really well and point it towards one that's more obvious, for example.

Get a Rottweiler.

I would hide the cameras, a good shot with a BB gun from those neighbors will take your cameras out.

This.

Get a junk one and put it in a place you'd expect it to be, be clever and don't make it too obvious. Get a good one (or 2) and place it well hidden covering the view you need covered. If they discover the junk one they'll destroy it and think they can do as they wish.

Bushnell makes a black camera and a security box. once the box is bolted to the tree and camera placed inside it can be secured to the tree with a cable lock. The setup will probably cost about $200 per unit.

Can the be aimed onto another piece of property?

Yes, you are legal to point it wherever you want as long as the camera is physically on your property.  There is no expectation of privacy outside of ones residence.

I may have to get something for inside my car. Someone at work finds the front driver side door as a comfortable place to sit. Marred to hell. Brand newish car.
