Springfield's EMP

I had one of these a while back and really liked it, had to sell it while I was unemployed, but have started lookingaround for one and DANG. When I sold mine I got $800 for it with 2 extra mags and a holster and it took a while to get rid of, this was about 3 years ago. Now I am seeing them at 1100 and 1200. Have they really gone up that much? Or is it just a case of "my gun is worth this much because I overpayed for it". Edited by pops572

I paid $1100 for mine and liked it so much that I once considered picking up another one for a backup.  I still see used ones for $800-1000.  However, sellers sometimes think that tritium sights, a third mag, aftermarket grips, and a holster you don't want should add $200-300 to the true value.

I had an EMP in 9mm and really liked it.  I sold it to fund a race gun which I haven't been able to shoot since our local range has been down for an upgrade over the last few months, but it is a very nice carry piece.

And a very nice one it is....still.

Almost pm'd  pops572...but came to my senses. I like it too much to let go.

I sure would like to find one of those 800-1000 ones.

:(

Buds doesn’t have any in stock, but you can reserve one at $1002. There are some on GB, since they don’t say “new” I assume they are used: $950 up. I wouldn’t pay that for used. Have you PM'd the forum dealers?

A really nice mag mod if you do ever find another EMP.

I am actually the one that got him started doing that mod with my original EMP. I saw onr that John Harrison had done for his daughters EMP and contacted him and several other smiths at the time and no one was interestedbin doing it, so I posted it on 1911forum looking for anybleads on havingbit done. Richard aka Log Man and I worked out the details and he has been doing them ever since.
And I did picknone up last weekend and sent 2 of the mags to him on Monday, got them back today. And it is the absolute best thing you can do to the EMP.

Isn't it a small world?

Congrats on your EMP as well.

Log man actually did a M&P mag mod for me also a couple of years ago. Basically took a full size mag and made it Glock 19 sized. He is truly a magician with metal work.
Last time I talked to him he said he was upwards of 5,000, yes thousand, EMP mags modded. And that was last year. He told me that the custom shop is even directing people to him if they inquire about flush mags. I just can't understand why Springfield Armory doesn't have these available. Oh well, good for Richard.

Hit it with the rattle can and it adds another $300 to the price!

I've got to get a few magazines to Log Man.  This will be only mod ever made to my EMP.

Last weekend I sent a few magazines to Log Man for his mod.  By Thursday they were in my mailbox.  His work is excellent.

I paid somewhere around ~$1,040 for my EMP 9mm with G10 stocks in early 2010 from Bud's. It hasn't been shot much, but I haven't had a bit of trouble from it. Always intended to put it into the carry rotation, but holster options were very limited when I bought it so I never had the magazines modified by logman. I've kept it around hoping the wife would take an interest one day. I think it's an ideal carry piece, especially for a woman because of the slim grip profile.
