DEFENSIVE KNIFE

Price $200
Knoxville, Tennessee
Instructor: Randy Harris

This course presents a compressed version of our two day Defensive Knife program. You will learn knife grips, angles of attack and defense, ballistic cutting and thrusting tactics, use of the live hand, footwork concepts, dynamic training drills and exercises to develop spontaneous and unplanned reactions. We will dispel the commonly held myths of the knife and leave you with a respect and a skill-set for this close range weapon that equals or surpasses your skill with the CCW pistol and allows you to begin integrating the knife and the gun.
Bring a carry knife, and a dull trainer facsimile of it.

AMMUNITION: N/A

We are incredibly fortunate to have a class of this type available to us in East TN.
Randy is a great guy and gifted instructor.

I legally carried a handgun (or two) and a pocket knife (Spyderco) for 12 years before taking my first Defense against Edged weapons class in 2002.

I was, delusionally, under the impression, "Heck, if they pull a knife I'll just shoot 'em".

I thought..."Hell, I went to Gunsite...I'm fine" :squint:

I was ignorant. Not stupid...I just didn't know, what I didn't know...

Around 2000 I was able to pick up a copy of "Surviving Edged Weapons" from Calibre Press...it was only sold to Law Enforcement at the time.
It was a paradigm shift for me.

Then while  a member of a training group out of Baton Rouge we ran the "Tueller" and "The Magliato drill" for time...participants aging from 20 yr old to 50 yr old...it was an eye opener for sure.

I've since taken several knife defense classes. This offering is a bargain. The material is invaluable...And it's local.

Investing in yourself, your knowledge and skills, is always money well spent.

In case anyone is interested a good Tueller drill (Scenario from Best Defense) with Mike Janich and Mike Seeklander is available on Youtube, as well as the entire "Surviving Edged Weapons".

Just a reminder, this one is coming up in about 3 weeks....

Everyone here probably carries a knife on them as part of their EDC gear. We carry them as tools primarily but they might also be pressed into duty in defense of self and loved ones. And in instances where you cannot carry a gun , the knife might be the ONLY self defense tool you will have on you. But have you ever actually gotten any instruction in the combative use of the knife? If you might find yourself armed with only a knife then this class is definitely for you! We look at carry methods, accessing and opening methods, methods of attack, and a whole lot more.

Hope to see you there!!!!!!
