Protective Order Question

I think a similar topic may have been covered but I am checking into this for my dad. Several years ago my then step-mom was sleeping around on my dad (he was a trucker and out on the road during the week). They wound up getting a divorce and her new boyfriend wanted her to get an order of protection against my dad. The first one expired and two more were issued in a series. He was never a threat to her and was more than willing to get rid of the b***h and never threatened her. He went to court, paid the costs and everything went without a problem. It has been 5+ years ago since the last OP expired. He is now 60+ years old and concidering getting his hcp. Can anyone tell me if and how this will affect his getting through the background check, what steps does he need to take or who should he contact in order to be sure he can pass his backgound check.

Well, the laws states

"That the applicant is not currently subject to any order of protection"

so if they have really expired, should be no problem.

So if it has really expired and there are no other disqualifying factoids in his history, I'd say just have him go through the normal process.

Worst case, some database kicks him out and his has to show documentation that the last order was indeed ended. At least one other member here has had to show documentation for some past boo boo or other that some database coughed up.
