American Rimfire scope mount

Recommended Posts

Posted
I picked up a Ruger American Rimfire yesterday. Question for you guys that own one. I could only find high dovetail rings in town to mount the scope but it's still bottoming out. What are you all using?

I think I'm going to need a couple Weaver #12 bases and high rings to get my scope off the rear sight.

Isn't it same leaf sight that's on 10/22? Never had any trouble clearing those with most any tipoff ring at least up to 40mm scope objective size.

Dumb question maybe, but you are folding leaf sight down, right?

Believe it or not but I did figure out the rear sight would fold.

After monkeying with it some more it's hitting because of where the scope needs to be mounted due to eye relief. The bases should give me the extra height I need.
