In all reality I think Christie's political career is about down the tubes already so he may just sign it but then after watching him and listening to him recently who really knows what direction he is going in. I don't even think he knows from day to day.............jmho

Apparently, some morons think that he is.

He is not Presidential material, which is exactly why the left and MSM keep putting him at the top of most likely nominee's. They want him to run. Bad thing is, much of the right keeps putting him there as well.

The Lame Stream Media still thinks he is a viable candidate and they will do their damnedest to select him as the Republicrat nominee for us.

Should this legislation reach his desk, I won't be surprised at all if he signs it. Christie is not only not a friend of the second amendment he is pretty much an enemy and if he doesn't sign this legislation it will ONLY be due to potential political backlash which i don't think is enough to keep him from signing it.  He may not be at all worried about the potential lost support if he does sign it because I suspect he is smart enough to realize that most of the votes he would lose he has already lost!

NJ after all, is a state that is absolutely NOT a friend of civilian firearm ownership and neither is Chris Christie.

For those who don't think that Christie is still, not just in the running but probably the Republican to beat for the nomination in 2016 I humbly disagree.  I believe he is exactly what the establishment Republicans (the ones in charge of the party) want in a candidate and I expect them to pull out all the stops to see he gets the nomination. Whether he gets the nomination is another matter but I do believe that the establishment and many other "Republicans" still think he is a great leader.

Does anyone still seriously think he is Presidential material?

Would anyone have thought a "community organizer" who never held a real job in his life and with some, at best, questionable parentage (not to mention birth records) have been "presidential material"???

Because the media whores know he is easily beatable.

I'd say it's a win-win for them either way. If he loses that's great for them; if he wins he isn't going to be much a change from whatever Democrat he beat.

He still isn't and has been on the job for just over 5 years.

Christie is not Black...

Neither is Obama which is probably why he's never and will never release his real birth certificate because I'd be real money that under "race" it says "white".

But I get what you are saying.

Exactly....and the Republicrats don't have enough balls between them to tell the LSM to go fly a kite.

So they will go along with whatever candidate the LSM deems acceptable ala McShameful and RMoney.

He could also simply not sign the bill and it will then become law without his signature after 45 days.

10 days in Tennessee I think. That's how many bills became law when Bredesen was Gov.

Christie and so many other politicians are shining examples of exactly what representatives should NOT be. They base thier actions on their own personal agendas or what the majority of their constituancy wants, NOT what is constitutionally based or required. The process is really very simple...

1. Is the issue constitutional? If not it gets a "NO" vote, regardless of how many people want it. If you can't do that, resign.

2. If it is constitutional, is it fair and equitable to all persons?

3. Will it provide a reasonable benefit to a large number of people?

3. Is the "bang for the buck" worth it?

Why would anyone think his stand on the 2nd amendment, one way or the other, would impact his chances to become President? Obama openly said he wanted to ban all semi-auto guns; he was elected President…twice.

Unlike Obummer, the people who vote for those of his ilk (hate America; the promise of "Obama money" and other free stuff) don't give a rip about the second amendment are are are very likely hostile to it - mot of them would love to see the second amendment go away so if the Democrat promises to "ban all assault weapons" that's music to their ears..

People who vote Republican tend to be at least somewhat "conservative" and support the Constitution even if they don't personally care about the second amendment...add in the people who are true conservatives and who DO care about the second amendment and they are not going to vote for someone who is openly hostile to the second amendment (or other parts of the Constitution) and if the Republican candidate can't get those votes he/she will not win the election,

I would only add that that exception would be if such a Republican candidate could garner enough votes that would usually go to the Democrat but I don't think even Christie could do.

Well, he has said he doesn't have a problem with signing
other gun legislation. I hope he does if it passes because
it will finally kill his further political goals as a Republican.
He would be the wrong choice for anything in the Executive
branch.

Pfiffle, you act like Republicans have a desire to further or protect anything firearms.  We have a Super Majority in TN, and we can't even get a single decent firearms law on the floor for debate.

Who are these Republicans you speak of, not the legislators in TN, or evidently the base, as they keep sending the same weak-kneed yes men up there, oh, and if they for some reason happen to stumble on the correct vote say on setting common core back a bit, leadership will reach in and bitch slap them back into line.
