With all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth in Knoxville today, I felt sure there would be at least a few pages already.

I'm happy for auburn, that's a great hire for them. I sure wish we had talked to him about signing back on. I like his brand of basketball

I'm glad he got hired somewhere else so we can stop hearing about how UT should hire him back. The reason Bruce isn't at UT is Bruce. I believe in second chances but I never thought for one second hiring him back here was a good idea. Plus jimmy cheek was never going to do that anyways. Cuonzo isn't charismatic but damn our team can play D. Plus I hated all the talk about BP while we have a sitting coach. If you want Cuonzo fired fine, but to think a university will fire a coach before the season is over is ludicrous. And to think they would fire a coach now, after getting to the Dance is even more ludicrous but "fans" are still saying crap like that Rant off

I am not a sports fan, so know nothing about basketball.  But I did spend several hours in a group with Bruce Perle about a year back.

He was very up front about his past (and how he should have conducted himself).  I was impressed by him.  I am not surprised Auburn hired him.

Well, I like the hire for Auburn. I've never been a UT fan (my dad graduated from Vanderbilt, so that's who I grew up rooting for), but I was impressed with Bruce Pearl as the coach at UT. I loved the fact that he actually cared enough to research the history of UT//Vanderbilt basketball, and brought back the "Ray Mears" orange blazer, among other things.

Have I mentioned yet that I graduated from Auburn? I look forward to hopefully seeing some basketball success from the loveliest village on the Plains. I went to Auburn during the Chuck Person//Charles Barkley era, and it's been many years since they have had a relevant men's basketball program.

seems the Golden Jew ( that is not a pejorative) found greener pastures.  Good for him.

I have a couple of Bruce stories.  My favorite is one of him at a breakfast benefit here in Knox.  His line was " hmm, Jewish dilemma, free bacon."  As he pulled some strips onto his plate.

There is no way UT was going to ever bring him back,  There is no circumstance for that to happen.  I feel for Martin.  The guy has done a stand up job for the program and should not have to tolerate the crap that had gone on in relation to Pearl.

All that aside, that line makes me like the guy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
