Admin/Mods - could we make this an Official Tactical/Defensive Shotgun Picture Thread? Pin/Sticky?

Show them off here! Almost everyone has a shotgun and who doesn't like pictures?!

P.S. Don't forget to vote in the poll! Keep it first - respectful and second - civil! Thanks!

I'll start with my plain and simple HD Shotgun. I have to say I was a big Mossberg fan for a long time because of the location of controls is much easier to get to. I picked up my first 870 a year ago and I have to say I like the extra heft in a shotgun and the feel of the action is more confidence inspiring to me. Weak and illogical reasoning, I know - I just like what I like!

Thinking about adding a six shell side saddle and Magpul stock/forearm. I really love the way the wood looks but I picked a shotgun at a local LGS with Magpul furniture and I was blown away with how nicely it shouldered.

Just a Rem 870 6+1 with double naught,  cheap shell saddle with some slugs, cheap light. Lives under my mattress.

Can grab the bandolier if it turns out I also need to clear the immediate area outside around the abode of small zed or Section 8 offensive. ;)

My 870 was a plain jane wood stock 26" express that the previous owner had done a pine needle camo job to.

I ordered speedfeed stocks scattergun technologies 6rd side saddle, 2rd mag extension, and big head safety. I stripped the old paint and put on a coat of kylon camo od green. I kept the 26" barrel because I still use this shotgun for hunting. I purchased an 18" barrel from a member here. I plan on adding a xs big dot and then I will be done. Edited by tennessee01tacoma

How do you like the Pardner and Hawk? I had heard that one of them were semi compatible with an 870. Can you attest to this?

Yeah, one of the IAC's I had I put an 870 handguard and carrier in. The 870 can take IAC and H&R barrels but not the other way around without some work. The main reason is that the mag tube ring is further forward on the 870 than the other two. The H&R also has a hump at the rear of the receiver but the IAC is a nearly direct clone (except barrel) to the 870 and they both can take nearly all 870 accessories (minus mag extensions, and mag tub caps).

The steel in the IAC is actually better quality than the 870 but the finish work is not as clean.

I've always admired them but after i picked on up I realized it's a big heavy sob. Plus it had a fixed stock which took out half the appeal.

It's built like a tank, there are 2 uninqe shooting positions with this folding stock has that no other shotgun has: 1) with the stock out turn the hook 90 degrees and it cradles your arm for one arm shooting and 2) fold the stock back on top of tha barrel and turn the hook 90 degrees and it gives you a horizontal fw grip for off the hip shooting...

This is my favorite all time shotgun, both are NFA DD

That's good to know but what do you mean the steel is better quality?

I'm told it has to due with epa regulations here stateside compared to China. They are heavier than the 870 as well. IAC, H&R, and Remington are all owned by the same company. That is why the designs are similar.

No scope worth more than the gun, no brain wave operated hair trigger, no dodecagon rail? You feelin' okay? ;)

All it needed was a good recoil pad. That was mission accomplished. You may remember how Jack's wife took to that gun. She was actually knocking some clays out of the air, unlike you and me :).
