Finally got around to building a 10/22 instead of just piecing them together for customers and friends . . . Took about six weeks to get everything together, but here's the (almost) finished product.

Refurbished basic 10/22 receiver, bolt buffer, GreenMountain 20" unfluted bull barrel, 1:9 twist for subsonic ammo, 1/2-28" threads for the Mite I'm expecting in December. Mounted in a Bell & Carlson Anschutz-style stock, with a Harris bench-rest bipod.

Optics--a slightly used BSA 6-18x40, Weigand high-rise Weaver base, and a pair of Leupold rings we had lying around the shop.

All that's left to do is to paint the stock, probably going to go with FDE to match a couple of birthday presents I got earlier this week.

And, of course, taking it out and shooting it . . .

Great job! I hopped up one for my wife a few years back because she is a southpaw. I used a Fajen LH Thumbhole stock and a ss fluted BBL, and a Burris 3-9x40 scope. Very easy project to do.

The Harris bipod, where can I look for one that will work on a Rem 597?

I love the 10-22 also. I have one with a Clark custom bull barrel, Hodge stock, Bipod and rear mono-pod topped with a BSA 6 X 24 target scope. I also have the 10-22 Magnum, Clark barrel, laminated target stock, bipod and same BSA scope. Both have target trigger parts in them and bolt buffers. Both drive tacks at 60 yards. Accessorizing is my hobby and I cannot leave a good gun alone. I love accurate guns! J When I can I’ll post pictures.

Nice build you have there. Take care

Now THAT is what I am talking about when it comes to a 10/22 build!! Forget all the fancy, laminated, thumbhole stocks (no offense to those that have them) and the stainless parts.... your's is a beauty. Simple.... effective... and black!!

Updated pics are coming this weekend--it needs another coat of mystery-color paint and I'll throw it all back together. Thanks for all the compliments, y'all. :D

Need to do another eventually, but I think I'm relapsing into EBRD--need to finish it as soon as I can!
