My Unicorn Finally Slayed! Glock 32 Gen2

Yes, I am pumped!  I finally acquired the gun that I had missing from the little gen2 collection that I have got going on.  I don't why this became such a obsessive journey for me.  I guess when you want something, and can't find it, but you know there is one out there, it just eats you up.  Nothing really special about this gun, other than ~2,000 were made, and it has stamped on the slide "357 Sig".  All gen III and gen IV have only "357" stamped.  I guess Mr. Glock didn't want to advertise Sig on their glocks.  Thats like buying a Ford Mustang from the dealer with Chevy Camaro emblems!

The one I purchased, not the one from Armslist I wrote about a month ago, was found coincidentally about a week later on Gunbroker, unfired new in the box.  The transaction was from a individual, but ran smooth.  Don't ask about the price, it was a premium is all I am going to say.

First, this!

I found one a couple of years ago on gun owners club but the guy had it refinished, it kind of ruined it for me.

I don't have a 19, 31 or 36. At this point I'm not interested in the long slides or the 2.5 gens. The 19 will be acquired when I find one at a reasonable price. The 31 and 36 though rare, will be acquired when I run across one and at a very reasonable price as well. I'm not just as obsessed now, the 32 just has ate my lunch for about 2 years now.

I have had a search engine on GB for close to two years now for the 32, 31, and 36 gen2, and only one hit has been made and that was the 32 about 3 weeks ago.  I also have a search engine on Armslist.

I know there are some that laugh about collector value of Glocks, but that wasn't my goal to have a pristine collection, but rather something simple and on a redneck level.  Well, maybe not a redneck level like a Jennings or Lorcin level, but a respectful level like Glock, but shooters and not safe queens.

I do not think there is a true Gen2 Glock 36. Other than an OD frame I am pretty sure all Glock36 to this point have been the exact same. The Glock 31 Gen2 probably is the most rare of all the Gen2.

Doing a little research using this link:

  • Looks like the 36 was first issued in 2000 in both a Gen 2.5 and Gen 3.0, see serial number DTH & DUK.  Looks like I can drop this one from the plan.
  • Looks like the 31 was first issued in February 2007 as a 2.0, see serial number CDZ.  In April 2008 it was confirmed at 3.0, S/N CRK.
  • Looks like the 32 was first issued in February 2007 as a 2.0, see S/N CEA.  In April 2008, it was confirmed at 3.0, S/N CRL.
