Went to jail last Saturday.

I can't believe I haven't said it here yet.

Last Saturday, I went on a tour of the Anderson Co. Jail.

It was an eye opening experience.

About half way though the tour they ask if we were brave enough to go in.  I don't think any of us expected that they would actually walk us right though general population.

Went though both the mens and womans general population.

They did tell us these were the low risk inmates.  Ones with jail jobs working toward reducing their sentences. They did also take us to the max secure area.  Those guys where in their cells while we went in the open area between them.

That place was a major maze.   Not bars but solid thick windows and solid doors.

If someone were to get though 1 door, they would still be locked behind several more.

Not that I ever had any doubt but I certainly wouldn't want to spend any time there at the request of Law enforcement.

I have family that serves/works there (and one or two who have resided).  Indeed rough.

Did you see any good lesbo action like in the prison movies?

Now that you point it out, some of the women where certainly eyeballing one of the women in our group more so then the men did in the other cell.  I thought that was kinda strange.

Some of the women in there checked the men in our group out as well.

I tell people that I wish I had a dime for each time I've been in & out of jail. They usually look at me with shock on their face and asked if I'd really been in jail. I tell them I had but it was because I was a Deputy Sheriff......

Were they checking you out? Some times it's worth it to get a little bruised up :)

This reminds me of a funny story. About 1997 a fellow plumber had a man working for him that we called knuckles. We called him this because he looks like a Neanderthal and has freakishly long arms, which we told him to hold up so his knuckles didn't drag the ground. Anyway he was in and out of the hamblen county jail every other weekend for drinking, fighting whatever. They had a funny smell in the jail before and what had happened, I kid you not is no water had been through the floor drains in so long the water in the traps had evaporated and smell was coming back up. A few years later wouldn't you know it it happened again, so said plumber sent knuckles to pour water down the drains. Shift change. He went in and the new shift wouldn't let him out. They thought he was arrested again. I took a while and paper checks to believe him after calling other guards. I was told it took hours.

My Grand son is a Cheatham County Sheriffs deputy and his assignment is jailer and he is a good one. He is about 6 ft 3 in tall and weighs in at 300 and when he is on duty the jail area is always very quiet because he has had to deal with a few of them from time to time and the regulars have learn to respect him and when he gives them an order he seldom has to repeat himself....................
