It says it takes effect May 1st. Does this cover all parking lots? Or are some still off limits? Its kinda vague.

What was passed is a crap bill that slightly improves the crap bill passed and effective last year.

Whether it really means anything to any particular person will depend entirely on that person's employer.

It's a crap bill for an employee who still gets fired for storing his/her gun in their vehicle but at least they can't be arrested for it. I think it's a better than nothing bill, meaning some places I go and park, at least i'm not violating a law that I can be arrested for if I store my handgun in my vehicle unless it's federal property.

Biggest thing it has done was to remove possibility of felony conviction for a permit holder having loaded firearm in vehicle on school property.

The bill could be improved but i'll count that as something, it's not a totally worthless bill. It's a shame to even have to have a bill to keep law abiding citizens from being arrested for having something in their vehicle that they are not going to commit a crime with anyway.

To be clear, that was already the law, this bill only clarifies driver's relationship with vehicle.

I was talking about the first bill last year also, when some said it was totally worthless. I don't visit too many city parks, if I want to go to a park, Montgomery Bell State Park is just down the street if I want to get out of my car and walk around. City parks I can just drive through with my handgun in my vehicle, or a college campus, or a hospital parking lot and not be arrested for it. Now in May I can be in a vehicle I borrowed. As I said in the Park Bill thread, I wonder how many bed wetters know we can already have a gun in their precious park already.
