Perhaps, but I actually watched the whole thing and decided for myself.

Novel idea, I know.

You're fogetting the society of instant gratification we live in. Many didn't bother watching and actually do believe everything the media has to say. I watched most of it and thought McCain did better but the taking heads of the media said otherwise. My opinion hasn't changed.

I like McCain!

Would like to see BHO:

Go through Navy flight school and land a jet on a CV!!!

Fly some combat missions

Endure POW conditions

Do NOT think he could do it.

But....... He sure could talk about it????

Did anyone watch 20/20 before the debate last night?

Diane Sawyer said in the beginning something to the effect that she would try to present McCain and Obama equally and impartially. Well......several times she asked McCain a question and as he was answering she would cut him off and talk over him. That was very rude and disrespectful IMO. I can't stand her myself.

Sawyer and all the other female 'talking heads' are all left wingers and bias for BHO.

Wonder why they do NOT like a successful lady VP Candidate and Governor.

Maybe they are jealous???

LOL>>>I noticed that...he wont even LOOK at Obama

one thing though...he NEEDS to stop giving old stories and talk the ISSUES

I take nothing away for what he gave up for our country. For that he has nothing but my respect.... But that alone will not move us in the direction we must go in. So I just hope to hear more about his plan. Maybe he will share more of that in the next debate. And I also look forward to seeing S.P. in the VP debates.

I started watching it, but fell asleep about 15 minutes in. Basically got through the narration about McCain's POW time and return home.

Considering that OBama is supposed to have absolutely no foreign policy experience, And that is supposed to be McCain's strong suit, I thought they seemed pretty equal. In that case I think McCain will go down in next weeks poles. But then again I would not vote for either one of the bastards.

I wish there was a "non of the above" ballot that would make both sides go back to the drawing board and present other candidates. Obama has no creditials for the office and McCain is not my favorite either. I will still support him however.

Gutterboy said:

Tonight's debate was, for the most part, just a 90-minute rehash of the campaigns themes up till now. Obama takes every opportunity to associate McCain with GWB. McCain takes every opportunity to allude to his superior experience. In between the two, there were some good exchanges, but I found them to be few and far between.

I definitely didn't come away from the thing feeling like I knew anything really new about the candidates.

+1 to that.

The VP debate is Thur.

On Palin, check this out:

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MDZiMDhjYTU1NmI5Y2MwZjg2MWNiMWMyYTUxZDkwNTE=

A columnist (a very conservative one at that) at a conservative publication is calling for Palin to step down as the VP nominee.

My take on the debate (from a public speaking instructor):

I graded it initially as a tie, Obama started strong but McCain came on when the debate finally turned towards the topic it was supposed to be about -foreign policy. However, once the fact-checking came out, McCain clearly fudged the truth more than Obama, which hurts his credibility. (See http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/category/fact-check/)

Delivery issues: McCain got hurt here a little: He rarely looked at Obama or the TV audience while speaking. He seemed focused on addressing Jim Lehrer and/or the live audience. Eye contact is a critical component to perceived credibility and honesty. It is a little psychological in nature. One of the reasons many Americans liked Reagan, Clinton and Bush #2 is that it really looked like they were talking to us when they spoke. Obama was the better "delvireryman."

Again, see Gutterboy's comment. If I was an undecided voter, I'm still undecided. Most polls give Obama a solid win. The only ways to grade Obama a solid winner in my opinion was to turn the sound off and focus on the non-verbal communication. Or withhold an opinion until you do the fact check.

Ok, for the statistically-minded, for those who love to really crunch the numbers, for those who think polls are mostly bs (they are!), here's a great site that digs way deeper than you'll see in the mainstream media:

What? You don't want to choose between the evil of two lessers? :D

Absolutely not. As long as we the voters keep doing that nothing is going to change. I intend to vote against every incumbent in office. If all Americans would follow suite we could take our government back. Thanks to special interests and a non working two party system we have no real choice in our government and we are to blame.

I watched the debate and thought it much of the same BS. No real "winner" in my opinion. I think McCain missed several opportunities to blow Obamalama out of the water. He just needed to hit the points:

- McCain warned of this current crisis back in 2005-Dems voted against doing anything.

- Obama has 2 of the Fannie CEOs working for him. Both got golden parachutes

- Obama still plans to implement his socialistic policies costing us billions, even with the current economic crisis. WOOHOO-promote U.N. values!!!:usa:

Are there any commercials playing from opposition groups like the Swiftboat Vets or Code-Pink(morons)? Where I'm at, there are no commercials.

I've seen exactly one TV commercial for the presidential race so far. Granted, I don't watch a lot of TV, but I'd still expect to see more than that. I have a feeling that will change over the next few weeks, though...

Depends on where you are. Here in TN no so much, I was in Vegas last week, you didn't hit a commercial break without a commercial from one, most of the time both, candidates. They are putting their money in states that could go either way and they feel will benefit them the most if they win. My guess is that closer to the end, they will be blitzing most states, unless a particular state is a no win/no lose situation for them.

That must be a wonderful place. Can I move there too?

His avatar/profile says Afghanistan... I'm sure the Army could use more folks over there, and they'll even pay for the transportation! :D

Hmm... maybe NC is more of a battleground state; I always recall seeing craptons of presidential campaign ads on TV when I lived there, but not nearly so much here. I suppose there's a good chance that's the culprit, as polls indicate that McCain has a comfortable lead in TN.

I loved the fact that both of these wanna be leaders, balked at the bail out question.

One of these dip sticks is going to inherit this problem and their both to gutless to take a real stand

Come on over! Ramadan is ending and these guys going crazy. We would be glad to put you to work. :D

As for the lack of commercials, they are replaced with annoying propaganda from all branches of service: Don't kill yourself, Don't drive drunk, Don't beat your wife. Well let me check:

- I want to leave here, no sense in killing myself.

- We are prohibited from drinking.

- And the spouse is 10000 miles away.

Seem like a wasted effort.:)
