OK, First C&R of the Yr..

Ok, I just renewed my license, back at the first of Jan. Birthday Feb., and I have been kind of looking for .35 Rem lever action ever since I got this Savage pump action. Well I found this J.C.Higgins Model 45, and it was made by Marlin for Sears. Marlin used birch stocks in stead of walnut, a few others small things.

Well it was made between '60 to '61. So its eligible, heck so the savings on the other wise, transfer fee, BC, and going after it, payed for its self already. Its not in bad shape at all for a 54 yr ole hunting rifle. A few scratches, a little surface rust. Less than $400 to the house.

Well did get a chance to shot it Sat. afternoon. We just shot it at 50 yds. Shot pretty good, shot a couple different loads I had and it seemed to like a IMR load the best.And hey, I've got about a lb. of it good place as any to start.

Looks good, Sidinman. Back then Sears sold a lot of J C Higgins guns. That old horse drawn mower brings back some early childhood memories. Are you going to shoot your own cast boolits in it?

Yes sir, I am currently looking for one. Something in the 190 to 200 gr, Right now shooting 200 gr cor-locs.
