Well, I had an unfortanate mishap on the 25th of February and totaled my 2011 Optima. Found a good replacement though: 2003 Infiniti G35 w/81,000 miles.

Nice car. My old man has the coupe with a six speed and its a blast to drive. The millage might not be as good as the optimas, but at least you have a nice increase in power from the VQ 35.

I bought a used late model 2003 G35 and it was a great car for the money. I liked it so much I bought a new 2006 G35 and 230,000 miles later I'm still driving it. I haven't touched it except for normal maintenance, brakes, shocks etc. It's leaking a little oil now but nothing I can't keep up with. I'll drive it until it quits and then I'll go buy another one. Used this time. 80k is nothing on these cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah, I'm definitely not missing the mileage loss from the extra power :D This thing is so much fun to drive.

You can get more power out of them without a LOT of modifications as well. I was planing on getting an 05 G35 sedan with a six speed as a replacement for my RX8, might still get it. Like rocketman said, just keep up with regular maintenance and it will last a LONG time. Oh, and avoiding wrecks might help to  ;)

Nice car. I think you will enjoy it. We have two. The wife drives an 07 G35 sedan and my daughter drives an 03 G35 sedan. Nice power and comfortable ride. The only thing I can think of bad is the 03-04 Models were prone to the Bose system going out. Without going too far into it, the sound system is somehow tied into the wiring for the A/C unit and its not just as simple to replace it. Lots of info on it on the G35 driver forum. Someone broke into my daughters and damaged hers and it cost about $1200 for insurance to replace it. Other than that, both have been great cars. Enjoy it.

Mine is a 4 door with the sport package and it is a fantastic handling car. Lots of power and zero body roll in a turn. It's gotten me out of bad situations several times over the years when I've had to make quick hard steering movements. I'll cry uncle in a turn way before my G-35 will. I drive a 2008 G35X sedan and love the way it handles & rides. The only drawback is that I'm tall so there's almost zero backseat room.

Glad you were not hurt with the optima accident and glad to see you found a very nice replacement for it. Nice Upgrade...............

Don't worry about the back seat room unless you are in it.

At 6'2", there is vey little that will allow me to get comfortable while driving and give anyone but a legless little person any rear seat room.

I can't see the pictures at work but I used to have an 07 G35 Coupe, the VQ35DE is a fun motor.  The only way to make real power with these motors are F/I.  I think they sound great with high flow cats (or no cats) and a nice exhaust.  Congrats

This.  The VQ is one of my favorite sounding engines with a decent exhaust.  At least if you take v8's and harleys out of the equation.
