Wasn't sure exactly what you wanted, but here is a couple of angles.  It is a YHM rail if I remember correctly.  I would have to look up the exact model I ordered if you're interested.  I actually had it out putting its first rounds through it today, but it didn't go great.  The brass was getting stuck and it was hard to get the bolt back open.  I need to do some tinkering and see what is going on.

Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to do that. I'm in the process of building mine, and wasn't sure how long of a hand guard I should use for an 8.2"-8.5" barrel. You're has the look I'm going for.

 

What kind of barrel do you have? Are you using an adjustable gas block?

I had McGowen make me the barrel.  It took a while to get it, but it is very nice.  I am using the adjustable gas block that Dolomite suggested in one of his other threads.

Unfortunately, I tried adjusting it while we were out shooting.  I think it is more of a case of the brass just being a bit too big around the neck.  I will just have to mess with it some and see what I can figure out.  It gives me something to mess with so not a huge deal...yet.

Hornady to size, Lyman Neck Expanding, Hornady Bullet Seating, and Lee Factory Crimp Die. I am using the Missouri Bullet 245gr bullets as I am looking to only do subsonic work.  I may try some without using the neck expanding die, but the bullets certainly load easier with it.

Are you lubing inside the case mouth? If not try that.

I dad the same problem when forming my cases, lubing the inside of the case mouth fixed it. I'm not using an expander die.

You can see if the cases will chamber without a projectile. Mine wouldn't wouldnt before lubing the mouths with a q-tip.

I don't think so.  If the neck is too thick, I think the same thing will happen, but it would be worth a try I suppose.  I only loaded 20 rounds as I wanted to Chrono them, but I didn't even get that far.

They seemed to chamber ok, but may have been a little tight.  I loaded the rounds to 2.245 so just under the max oal.  I think I just need to do some testing with various things and figure out what the real issue is.  I am sure I will figure it out.

Be aware that some Lee 300 Blackout dies are out of spec. They do not size the waist down enough to chamber resized cases in some guns with tighter chambers, like Daniel Defense.

To check the neck measure the loaded round's neck. It should not exceed .335". When loading larger cast bullets the case neck can swell beyond .335". And then the rounds may not chamber or the fired round might have excessive pressure from the case not being able to release the bullet from the case neck.

Finally, trim the cases shorter that the max of 1.368". When trimmed to max length the case neck can be held closed on tighter chambers. It can also prevent the rounds from chambering. There is nothing wrong with going much shorter providing the bullet it held in place. I trim my cases at 1.35"-1.355" and have never had a problem. The cases headspace on the shoulder, not the case mouth, so having a short case is not going to be a problem. I had some cases I messed up on and were trimmed to 1.34" or smaller. I loaded them like the properly trimmed cases and they shot fine.

Be aware that the MBC bullets may not work. .309" is too small for a cast bullet. And when you seat them in a tight case neck it might even size it below .308".

Sounds like the OAL of the cases is too long or the cases are not being completely sized. The shell holder MUST touch the die at first.
