Hi, I have done a few different styles of competitive shooting in my previous state...but I haven't gotten a chance to do any since moving back to TN in September as my weekends are pretty busy now with twin infants.  I have some time during the weeks to go shooting though, does anyone know of any ranges in Middle TN that have plate racks or steel setup for some pistol shoot "practice"?

Oak Ridge Sportsmans Association has some that stay set up. Thats the only one i'm sure about.

Thanks for the reply, 2.5 hours is a bit far from me though.

OK Coral, out past Murfreesboro..

I've been to OK Corral a couple of times and love it!  I don't recall seeing any steel though, is it somewhere that I'm missing?

Strategic Edge - in Chapel Hill

Wow, that sounds like a pretty cool place.  Are you a member?

At the pistol range

Which pistol range?  I've been on about 6 of them (the three past the trap shooting and three "under" the rifle range).  There is one more I can think of on the far end that I haven't investigated.  Is this where you are talking?  What do they have there?

Our range is for competition only. But we do have two each of plate racks, polish plate racks, texas stars, and new(I haven't seen yet)Irish plate racks.
About 14 seconds in.

The one on the far right. Past the Assault Rifle Pit.  They have one set of plates on the left side of the range.

If I can ever get some free time on a weekend, I would love to make one of the matches.

MTSC in Manchester has a plate rack

Cool, I'll have to check them out.  I can't find a lot of range details on their site, do they have rifle ranges as well?  Are their matches members only?

Yes but you have to be a member, not open range.

I'm considering joining a club!

Damn!  The only pistol range I haven't been in and they have a plate rack!?  Thanks for the info!  I'll be trying to make another range trip asap.

Strategic edge in chapel hill has plate racks. 100 200 and 500 yard rifle and a paper pistol range and steel w paper for pistol only. Beautiful range w nice club house. It is to outdoor ranges what nashville gun club is to skeet and trap.

MTSC is members only for practice and use during the week. The matches are open to everyone. There is a public rifle range on the same property.

The plate setup on the left side is Rimfire pistols only, not for centerfire.

I think they just closed it for new membership applications until sometime this summer though. They will also be adding more stations moving forward too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think you are right about that. Those are big heavy plates that a 22 won't knock down. Here is a pic of the sign. It says "Pistol or Rimfire Only" and the one you can't read on the fence says the same and then "No Centerfire". This was put up when somebody took an AR and shot up the plates and ruined them. I think the sign(poorly worded), is trying to keep centerfire rifles off of it.

You could call the OK Corral to confirm.

Correct, "No Center fire Rifle", I asked the last time I was there, as my 44 mag "broke" a weld.

I did offer to pay for repair, was told it happens and not to worry, and was told "Thanks" for letting them know what I did.

I would love to try 3 gun!  ...I'm missing a shotgun though.

Hmm, I'll have to look into the membership situation.  By this summer, do you mean when the new "year" starts for the membership?

Cool, I got sad there for a minute.

Strategic said it would be around July when they start accepting more applications. They need to expand it a little more before they do. I think he does not want it to get too crowded, which is understandable. It's probably the best range around.
