Ankle Holster issues

Recommended Posts

I have carried a Kel Tec P11 as a backup gun for 6+ years now. I intended to get an Allessi ankle holster because Mas Ayoob said they were the best. The waiting time for them back then was a year. I bought a Fobus ankle holster that showed up in 3 weeks, just to try out ankle carry. The P11 fully loaded weighs about 22 ounces. The Fobus has been so comfortable I never ordered the Allessi. It also holds the P11 very securely, despite no strap. The p11 has never come out. I have had the Fobus for the 6 years and it is just now starting to show some real wear. I forget I have it on.

Tips: Carry a small, light gun. Wear 2 (two) socks on your carry ankle, wear one under and one over.

"If you think you need to carry a gun, you probably need two." Mechanical things break. Two is one, one is none. I have had a broken firing pin after one shot. I have had corroded together brass cased rounds in a mag loaded less than 6 months. (I only carry nickled now) I have had dead primers in a home defense revolver. ( I used WD-40 to clean the stainless revolver 35 years ago. Never use that stuff on pistols)

Ankle guns make great loaners to qualified people who left theirs at home that day. My brother used to do that all the time. They are GREAT carjacking guns, you can get to them seated in your car. I live in MEMPHIS.  :-)

Try it, you might like it.
