freight quotes and hauling

Anymore here in the business of hauling or moving freight ?

I have a piece of equipment sitting in new jersey and need it shipped to the knoxville area.

Its on a standard pallet. Not certain of weight but its at least 1,000 lbs.

After using the ever handy google my mind melted from the number of joe bob places wanting to haul it, lol.

So before I took a leap of faith with an unknown I wanted to see if I could help someone on here or at least get advice .

Thanks in advance

I drive a truck and used to do the New York/New Jersey runs. If I still did it I would stick it in the back of my trailer and drop it to you on the way home for a 50 dollar bill but I do west coast now. Maybe an LTL carrier or a hot shot driver would have some room if you get it listed with a broker. I would even check out uship.com Edited by glowdotGlock

I work in logistics/transportation. If you tell me which carriers you have in mind I can look up their CSA score. If it's just one piece of equipment and you're not in a hurry I would recommend CH Robinson LTL.

There is also that business that they do the TV show on. That may be your best best.

I don't have anything but the free channels so you will have to fill me in on this one :squint:

Why not just pull a trailer up there and bring it back?

Well while that's not entirely out of the question I've ran the math and I am looking at $700-800 in travel cost. My original plan was to just take the truck up and have them load it into the bed. Then I find out they might not have access to a fork lift. But they have a dock, which by normal standards is usually about 6" higher than the tailgate of my truck. Tad too much to skee a 1,000# pallet off of,lol. But if I get desperate enough  :ugh:
