Ever buy a gun, put it in the safe and forget they bought it? I was going through my safe tonight trying to figure out why my safe seems to be shrinking:tinfoil: and lo and behold I found a Ruger SP101 stainless I had bought from Legends when they had a killer sale and stuck it in the safe. Dang now I'm worried what else I might find in there.

I had decided that I needed to make a list with SN's and that's what started it all, I also had not reliased that I had bought / traded so many guns with fellow TGOer's this last year. I sure got some good deals.:D

Yea, I found a Taurus 24/7 in 45 I got form a member here, a taurus pt140 I got, a beretta 9000s in 9mm, a S&WM&P9, and a Sigam 9mm. I got to keep better track of what I'm doing. No wonder I don't have money for the Sigma 223 that Steelharp here had for sale.

I have never forgot about one, but I do have one I bought about 12 years ago.....and still have not fired. A nice, pristine SIG P226. Funny thing is I keep buying mags for it. You can never have too many mags. Maybe one of these days I will actually take it to the range.

Tell me about it, I bought a couple of mags for my S&WM&P40c and before I knew it they had reproduced and I ended up with 20 before seperating them.

I found a tiny Beretta 21 that I thought I had loaned my Brother a while back.

I haven't shot it in four years.

I'm a Beretta whore, Lets just not go there. I will tell you this though I have a Beretta storm in 45 that still has the hang tags on it. just never got around to breaking it in.

Ya'll are bad!! I thought I was nuts when I had enough mags to hold almost 500 rounds of ammo for my Sigma! I spent more money on that mags then the gun cost me!

I've still got half a dozen mags for the AR I sold, and am holding onto those until I get another. I'd like to be able to keep at least 1,000 rds of .223 in mags once I have an AR again... just because. :biglol:

Don't get me started on AR mags. I now have about 60 of those, but recently I have been focused on breeding my pistol mags.

Yes, but all of those mags need food....sooooooo, how many rounds of all these calibers you got on hand? :D

Closest I've come to that was breaking out the coat for the first cold day of winter and finding a twenty in the pocket.

:D

Thats funny. I found 1200.00 in a jacket pocket a couple years ago. I had been putting cash away for a rainy day fund & had completly forgot about it. I felt like I won the lottery that morning.

Around 10K of .223/5.56, but only about 1500 rds. each of 9, .40, and .45. Over the past year, I have be focused on AR related stuff, but have done little for my pistols. I am now trying to remedy that. I have my pistol mags built up pretty well (a few more to buy), but I really need to increase my supply of handgun ammo. I will probably focus more on 9mm, since I have more 9mm handguns.

now I ask a serious question. And keep in mind I am as ate up over guns and bullets as anyone. But why in the world does someone need these huge quantities of magazines? I like to have two for each weapon, but the second one is mainly if there is a malfunction of the first one. I am not fighting off zombies, TEOTWAWKI is not happening and even if it did what good is 50 magazines for a handgun or a hundred for a rifle?

I ask the above in all seriousness. I think it is a sickness. I have ammo and don't want to shoot it because then I will not have it anymore. LOL WTF?

I used to have more, but I have shot about 2K in the past several months. I stocked up on most of it before the prices went too insane. I haven't bought any this year, but I still keep my eyes open for a decent buy. The good thing is, the prices seemed to have peaked. The Brown Bear is decent plinking stuff. My AR loves Wolf, and shoots it with no problems.

I can only speak for myself, but I have a couple reasons for having a large mag stash. None of them have to do with zombies or TEOTWAWKI. I am not part of the tinfoil crowd. :D

Back in 1994, I got caught with my pants down with the AWB and the 10 round mag restriction. I saw many gun dealers taking the second pre-ban mag out of the gun boxes, and selling them separately at hugely inflated prices. I wanted more mags for my handguns, but I refused to buy 10 round mags, or pay $80 for a $15 Glock mag. I don't know if there will be another ban, but I vowed never to let that happen to me again.

Also, when I go shooting, I will usually load up my mags the day before. That way, I spend more time shooting, and less time reloading on the range. I also like taking handgun and carbine courses, so having a bunch of loaded mags means less loading on training days. If I only have 2 or 3 mags per gun, I am going to spend way too much time reloading.
