 I didn't know this :    Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history: 

Spades - King David 

Hearts - Charlemagne 

Clubs -Alexander, the Great 

Diamonds - Julius Caesar

Sort of. In old (French or Spanish, I can't recall) decks, they commonly added names to the 4 kings. Those listed above were the most commonly used, but not the only ones. IIRC, it varied by deck manufacturer and they stopped doing it a few hundred years ago. There are also other names and symbols for the 4 suits that have fallen out of use for the ones we use today. Batons = Clubs, Swords = Spades, Coins = Diamonds, Cups = Hearts.
