Anyone ever use one of these bore conditioning (lapping) kits?

The product is advertised as "a better barrel in a box." It promises to reduce fouling, ease cleaning,

give better velocities, and improve accuracy.

Here is the before and after results, this product looks promising to me,

I just want to know if anyone has used it, and can give an honest evaluation. Thanks.

Sounds fancy... I'd kinda' like to try this in my PC 629-4. That things leads like crazy in the first 2-3" of the barrel, no matter the powder or charge.

There was an article in one of the mags (can't remember which one) about it and they said it was a good product for competition type barrels and overkill for normal shooting. It is basically bullets that act in various grits to polish out a new barrel. Interesting concept.

Lots of different opinions about firelapping your barrel out there.

Lots of people swear by it... other say it just jacks up your barrel.

I suppose there is a right and wrong way of doing it.

All it does is smooth the inside of the barrel out... eating at potential burrs from the cutting of the rifling.

I'd prefer to just shoot more rounds down the pipe than shooting something abrasive down it. Never noticed a difference. Just like "breaking in a barrel."

yea. I'm not too worried about the accuracy part (unlike some, I think I'M the one with the accurancy problem, not my guns!) but I do think there may benefits in reduced leading. Since I like to shoot hundreds of rounds out of my guns when I go to the range, this could increase my range-time (I stop shooting when the guns look a mess in the barrels, usually my .44 first) and clean-up time. That would be great!
