Word is from the joint chief is that the pentagon plans on taking the same tactical posture as they took on Iran last year; someone from the US is going to send a letter to Putin politely asking if we can have our Ukraine back, just like we did with Iran when they captured our drone.  When Putin says no, nothing else will be done from our side
